For reference, we put on the Lake Tahoe Marathon in October and the Maui Oceanfront Marathon in January.

We also own ground floor unit #9 and rent it exclusively through the Resort office at Hale Pau Hana when we are not there.

A third or fourth person in the unit with only one bathroom makes an uncomfortable stay, but doable, and comes with a extra charge of $30 person charge per night.

To reserve through the owner, you will get a rental agreement and make a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the balance paid 30 days before arrival.

Hale Pau Hana is the best beachfront place to stay on Maui for location and price.

Cleaning

A less than five nights stay will incur a housekeeping fee of $150

Five night stay or more do not have the extra housekeeping fee.

Unit 28 is a one of a kind end unit with a unique extra side window with a down the beach oceanview that no other one bedroom condos have.

We have a two way 2nd floor view and the privacy of not living in a ground floor fish bowl.

Sleep on the Murphy Bed in the living room with lanai windows open and listen to the ocean and the moon set.

Things to see and do

Humpback whales may treat you to a show anytime between December and April. They use Maui to birth and breed new whales. In the summer months, they return to Alaska and gorge themselves with krill.

The Pacific Whale Foundation offers excellent guide whale watching cruises out of Maalaea Bay about 10 miles north of our unit.

You can view the local outrigger canoe clubs, which work out in the early morning or late afternoon rowing by in front of our lanai.

Plenty of pretty places to jog, bike, kayak, or paddle board.

Another activity besides lounging on the beach is snorkeling at either end of our beach. Another is driving the road to Hana, stopping to view water Falls and the rugged coastline of the east side of the Island.

Driving to the top of the Haleakala volcano for sunrise is popular activity and needs a reservation from the National Parks, from sea level to 10,000 feet, is a great trip.

You could also sign up for a commercial bike ride down the volcano. The ride up to the top and a special bike provide a safe trip down the mountain.

It's fun to take an ATV tour of the Ulapalakua Ranch. You need reservations, and it's located next to Tedeschi Winery.

About 8 miles north of our place, at Ma'alaea Bay, is the Maui Ocean Center (The Hawaiian Aquarium). In the same area is the ancient Kealia Fishpond.

There is also a miniature golf park in the same area.

About 5 miles north of HPH is outstanding windsurfing, where the giant green turtles come to lay their eggs. You may see yellow road signs warning of turtle crossings. (they don't last long)

There are surf lessons 3/8 miles north, and good surfing is a few blocks north and a mile south of our place.

Windsurfing is also excellent, 4-6 miles north of us and also on the island’s east side.

Scuba or snorkeling abounds.

On Tuesday (most of the time), the Resort Assoc. provides Hawaiian Entertainment at 5 pm on the lawn overlooking the Beach.

On Thursday, the Homeowners organize a weekly Pu Pu Party. All guests are invited to bring something to share and their own beverage and enjoy the sunset with new friends.

Any night is good for BBQ on our lawn overlooking the beach and helping the sunset.
